Well, we're doing it - stepping into the Christmas fundraising fray with all the spirit we can muster!

The truth is that trying to raise £40,000 in 7 days is terrifying. I have no idea how people will respond to our donation ask, but with all the hard work we've put in this year to lift this charity off the ground, there would be no greater endorsement of our success than to hear from you that our work matters.

Carefree set out with a goal to get every full-time unpaid carer in the UK access to an annual break. People state lofty goals all the time, but we've actually created the technical infrastructure needed to make it possible.

2000 people and their families have already benefitted from a gifted hotel break sourced via Carefree's platform, and we have a further 5607 carers registered with us that we're eager to find a stay for as soon as possible.

We've had some huge achievements this year, mapped in the below infographic, but beneath those numbers lies a small, talented team who desperately need more hands on deck to effectively navigate our growth.

Carefree infographic showing 2,000 breaks delivered to unpaid carers, with 75% in one year. Key stats include 7,607 carers registered, 89% couldn’t have taken a break without Carefree, and 95% reported better wellbeing. Projected breaks for 2023: 4,000. Also notes 20% of carers are 'hidden' from local authorities.

Any donation made between 12 Noon on 29th Nov to 6 Dec will be match funded by The Dulverton Trust, our founders, trustees and family members who have committed the first £20,000 between them and believe deeply in this charity's power to truly change the landscape of support available for unpaid carers in this country.

Please join us and become a hashtag#CarefreeBreakmaker by donating to our Big Give fundraising campaign here: caref.re/3Ow6kNB.

Thank you 💜
